I was the sole unity developer on this project at Part Time Evil. Aliento is an android app made in collaboration with the University of Texas (UT) that guides the user through various lessons about drinking. It was made to benefit the Latinx community in the US who experience increase risk of anxiety or depression while quitting alcohol abuse. This app provides coping and anxiety reduction methods to help the users, given by UT, and implemented in the project by PTE.
I collaborated closely with the UI designer while developing this app. My responsibilities were to create the initial mock-up of the full application flow as well as implement all UI/UX and small minigames with an emphasis on clarity of information. I also added Firebase connectivity with data saving for researchers to reference while running the study. Finally, I localized the app to ensure all text could be switched from Spanish to English. This involved making the UI all scalable at runtime, most notably the captions object that changed alongside the narration VO.
